Filtration control additive for oil-based muds RS-940
Filtration control additive for oil-based muds RS-940
Description

RS-940 is used to reduce fluid-loss for all types of oil-based muds. The additive contributes to the overall increase in emulsion stability and thermal stability of oil-based drilling muds. It is effective in combination with a gilsonite type dry filtration regulation additives.

Scope of use and application
Due to its partial solubility, RS-940 increases the viscosity of drilling muds, especially in low temperatures. Recommended concentration is from 5 to 20 kg/m3, adding reccurently concentrations of 0.71 to 1.43 kg/m3. Concentration of RS-940 may be increased up to 30 kg/m3 in high temperature.

When preparing a fresh fluid, RS-940 is recommended to be added last.
It is possible to add RS-940 in circulation cycle to reduce filtrate of the mud that is being used. Pilot runs are recommended to identify the optimum concentration.
Toxicity and handling requirements
In terms of the degree of impact on the human body, according GOST 12.1.007 RS-940 belongs to the 4th class of hazard and toxicity (low-hazard substances).
Packaging and storage
RS-940 is supplied in steel or polyethelene of up to 200 liters. Four drums are placed on pallets and additionally secured with fastening tape.
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.
